DAVE HUGHES GT120 & SLAVE UNIT
"These are my ageing 80's Matamp Quasars.!!! From the top; Quasar 100, Quasar 200, Matamp 2 way Crossover, Quasar 250, Quasar 500. These are Superb Matamp Mosfet Stereo Power Amps. They can be driven Megahard with the VU meters at full and the clip lights on night after night! with little or no distortion . These are fan cooled and also incorporate DC and thermal protection.I dont think many were made but I really wish these Excellent hard working amps were still available."

"Here are the pics of my Matamp GT120 and 1 of my valveslaves. This
Amp has always sounded Loud n clear .its original except for a full revalve
and a mod to make it a detachable mains cable."
"This
is my 1972 Matamp SL200 Valveslave. Its basically working and is Very Very
Loud!!
I've not restored or re-capped it yet as id really like a circuit before i
start. Its massively heavy so i havent gigged with it.....yet! It sounds fantastic
even on its original KT88 valves and components. This is ONE OF FOUR!!!! that
came from the barn of a local farm!!! Unused since the farm ceased barndances
in the Mid 80s.The Main Amp was a Matamp - Orange GT200 valve guitar amp heavily
modified with an extra valve and 3 more inputs for mixing "gram"...This
powered 2 of the 8 speakers the remaining 3 SL200 Valveslaves powering the
remaining 6!!!!Id have loved to have heard this installation when it was being
used. The remaining 3 amps are in preservation with a friend of mine...not
sure what he intends to do with them."

"This
is one my Matamp Clubman 1's, this is a Late one with a modern case with no
white pipeing. It is a Mosfet version which sounds great but gets Megahot
when is use.As you can see its being used as a slave here and spends most
of its time with the Clipping light flashing away all night!. I own a Mosfet
version, serial # 334 also a Bi-polar version, serial # 238. The Mosfet one
is louder but clips with little audio distortion. The Bi-polar one is not
quite as loud but the power stage never distorts...if you want overdrive turn
up the channel gains..that does the trick! These amps are great for guitar
/ pa or disco use."
